WHEN HELPING — HELPS

Sometimes things go the way we want them to—sometimes they don’t.

In a world where it is more important to spread God’s Word than to eat, we need to be able to accept what He has for us even when it isn’t what we’d hoped for.

I don’t understand why things happen the way they do. There are times that I can offer comfort through helping others see their circumstances from a different perspective, but that’s not always the case.

My plans are oftentimes far removed from what God has for me. I will do what I can to move forward—at times, from the very center of disappointment.

Life is not futile—don’t let Satan convince you it is. Hope is not fleeting—it is eternal.

We must remember that we are here on this planet for but a moment. But we are not here by chance—God has placed us where we are for a purpose.

Romans 12:12 states,

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

There is work to do around us, and we will be held accountable for whether or not we have heeded that fact.

Father, help me to do what you have called me to do. Help me to keep from getting in your way. Help me to accept what your will is—and what it isn’t. And help me to make it through the pain, the suffering, the lessons you have in store for me. Sustain me that I will endure whatever you place in my path. May your will be done, not mine—may your name be glorified, only yours.
