President Obama would love for you to believe a lie. And you may, until you have to see your doctor or the next time you go to the ER.
As a practicing physician, I am on the front lines to witness first hand the shock that many express when they discover what their new, expensive, Obama Care insurance covers – more importantly, what it doesn’t. The Obama Care website makes promises that simply aren’t true. Let’s take a look.
Statement Number One on Obamacarefacts.com:
Obama Care’s goal is to give more Americans access to affordable, quality health insurance, and to reduce the growth in health care spending in the U.S.
Has this happened? More Americans are now forced to buy some form of healthcare or be fined for not doing so. So in that regard, more Americans are insured, like it or not.
From a practical standpoint, however, when those individuals come to my office, they discover for the first time that the insurance they were forced to purchase under the Obama Care rules may not cover services such as X-rays, lab work, or medications.
Not much of a healthcare coverage policy unless, of course, the design is for it not to work, thereby collapsing the current system of quality healthcare.
Reducing the growth of health care spending in the U.S. comes in several forms. By design, Obama Care may prevent you from having that CT or MRI that may be life saving.
One of the methods by which the Obama administration determined whether or not CT scans and MRI’s were used beneficially in the recent past was to survey the number of negative tests performed and determine that they were therefore unnecessary. In other words, when you bring you child to my office, and they have right lower abdomen pain, vomiting, a fever and a high white blood count, appendicitis is high on the list of potential diagnoses.
I request a CT scan and it turns out to be acute gastroenteritis, possibly from food poisoning, and not appendicitis. That would be considered an unnecessary CT scan by Obama Care standards.
Would you really rather wait and see if that appendix ruptures? And if it does, we’ll then do our best to save you child? I think not. But that is where we are right this minute.
Statement Number Two:
The Affordable Care Act expands the affordability, quality, and availability of private and public health insurance through consumer protections, regulations, subsidies, taxes, insurance exchanges, and other reforms.
The ACA does not expand affordability or quality of care. It reduces your options and places the burden of care on you and your pocketbook.
It does not make private and health insurance more affordable through consumer protections, it makes them more expensive. That is what is really happening. You’ll find out the next time you visit your doctor’s office.
And it’s not your doctor’s fault. He is highly regulated under the current regime with threatened sanctions and penalties. It is one reason many doctors are leaving the practice of medicine. For more details, see WHY DOCTORS ARE LEAVING MEDICINE, and AMERICA’S HIDDEN AGENDA — THE LEGACY OF AN IRRESPONSIBLE PRESIDENT.
The ACA does regulate and tax the nation and prevent the free enterprise healthcare industry from profiting. But that is the very system that provides state-of-the-art advances in medicine that benefit the world.
Research and development of new products and services will cease if they can’t be paid for. Again, the design of Obama Care is to collapse the healthcare industry to replace it with a poorly conceived government system.
Obama Care will cost taxpayers $1.8 to $2.6 trillion over the next 10 years. Over the next decade, the Congressional Budget Office estimates Obama Care will cost American taxpayers $1.798 trillion.
Statement Number Three:
Obama Care doesn’t regulate your health care – it regulates health care and some of the worst practices of the for-profit health care industry.
One of the greatest, bold-faced lies our President has ever made is that Obama Care does not regulate your health care.
The way in which it accomplishes all that it accomplishes is by regulating your health care. It determines if you get that test your doctor feels you need. It determines if you get a particular medication your doctor prescribes.
In the near future it will determine if you get to see the doctor you want, and if you’re offered medical care at all, based upon your chances of survival.
Try explaining that to your little girl with leukemia, or your boy with a ruptured appendix already in a coma. Let me say this again – Obama Care regulates your health care, and always will. They can’t control the system without that tool. It is the key to their plan
How does Obama Care regulate some of the worst practices for the for-profit health care industry? From what we have seen on the health care front, Obama Care decides that anything that makes a profit is bad.
That’s why our President demands the health care industry’s collapse. The concept of free enterprise is one that our President cannot tolerate, but it is the foundation of our nation’s financial success in new markets.
There is no reason for a company to spend billions researching a new drug or procedure if it can never recoup its costs. That’s pretty simple economics.
The website I mentioned is filled with promises that are impossible for the administration to keep. Obama Care is not thought through as a true health care delivery system and never has been since that was never its design purpose. There is no plan other than this – collapse America’s healthcare system and replace it with socialized medicine like other underdeveloped countries have.
Do you think there is better medical care anywhere in the world? I’ve been to many, many countries. Nothing even comes close to what we had here.
