April 23, 2014 - God

Just when you think you have it figured out, God steps in.

Even when motives are good and we strive to serve, we don’t always know how that looks.

Recently someone I respect a great deal reminded me that it isn’t who sees what I do or the credit I receive—it’s a matter of serving God.

This happened on the heels of Satan whispering that nobody cared—not even God.

I have been a Christian for fifty years and I know better than to listen to the great deceiver, but the lie found its way into my head through the sneaky method Satan used. He chose someone I trusted to plant a deceptive seed.

Some of the people I admire most in this world are those living in places that are impenetrable to the Gospel. They live day to day trying, believing, and striving to make a difference.

Sometimes they see the fruits of their efforts, but more often than not, they never witness the seed they planted blossom, or the love they offered open a door to salvation for an otherwise doomed soul.

But they try and obediently serve, understanding that one day it will make a difference. One day the payoff will come.

What we do and why we do it matters to God. He expects for us to serve Him, and Him alone. He doesn’t share His Glory—He’s God Almighty.

The efforts of His people never go unnoticed to Him. The sacrifices are never in vain. They always matter, even when no one else seems to care.
