HOW TO HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

December 31, 2012 - Miscellaneous

It has been a little over a year since I started my new blog here on WordPress.

I hoped that it would be a source of information at times, occasionally a forum for discussion, and more often than not—a way to share my heart.

As I wrote my first few articles, I was overwhelmed with the support from my friends and others who became involved on a daily basis, and began offering constructive feedback and engagement with the material.

At the end of 2012, thirteen months after beginning, my readership is measured in the tens of thousands with regular visits from around the country, as well as France, Sweden, Egypt, South Africa, Russia, Germany, Australia, the Ukraine, and China.

In that period of time, we have experienced many changes in our family. For example:

  • My first grandson, Lawson Thomas Ray was born. Mom Wendy and her husband Tommy Ray are doing well.
  • My first granddaughter, Harper Gwen Clemons was born. Mom Andi and husband Jason Clemons are doing great.
  • New doors for serving God have opened in Africa that are drawing me into some of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of my life.
  • I was signed on by a highly acclaimed literary agent and have begun working on my second and third Novels.
  • My son, Jonathan has successfully launched a promising career.
  • My third grandchild (boy/girl not yet sure) is on the way, compliments of Wendy and Tommy.
  • New revenues for our charity, Radical Hope, Inc. are on the horizon as my writing gains traction. Radical Hope funds other charitable organizations that provide aid and introduce the Gospel into third world countries.

As my children grow into their future adventures, it is a very exciting time. So many of my own memories are rekindled as I watch them begin their lives as moms and dads, raising families of their own.

I don’t know what this next year may bring. I’m no longer under the delusion that I am in charge. But there is one thing of which I am certain—God is good and His plan is perfect.

In 2013, I pray that God’s kingdom will advance to regions of the world that have never even heard His name. May His blessings touch you and your family in ways you have never even dreamed.

On the brink of this New Year, if you want all that God has for you—adventure, excitement, and eternal treasures beyond imagination, don’t forget to ask yourself this question:

“What does God want me to do outside of my comfort zone this year for His kingdom—for eternal purposes?”

Happy New Year!
